Experience rugged Alaska firsthand as you summit Mount McGinnis via a helicopter and then hike down the alpine terrain, all while soaking in incredible views of the famous Mendenhall Glacier! Your hike begins at the top of Mount McGinnis with your knowledgable guide, and as you decend below the treeline, we will enter the dense Tongass rainforest before making our way to the a final amazing view of the Mendenhall Glacier. Our last four miles will be on the West Glacier Trail where we will exit via the trailhead. Prepare for a wet, muddy, and unforgettable adventure!

Take a breathtaking helicopter flight to the stunning Mt. McGinnis, where you’ll arrive high above the treeline to incredible views of the iconic Mendenhall Glacier, a vast river of ice spilling into the valley below.
As you take in the rocky, grassy alpine, keep an eye out for elusive mountain goats grazing on the slopes! From here, begin your descent into the lush, dense forest of the Tongass, with its rich greenery and marshy terrain, leading you to a secluded viewpoint of the glacier.
The adventure continues along the shores of Mendenhall Lake, offering more spectacular scenery as you make your way to the journey’s end.

Meet at your designated pickup spot 15 minutes before your booked time for this tour. Once you check in, our guide gets you into a helicopter as soon as possible so that your adventure can begin!

There is a 250 lb weight limit - Pay for extra seat? Surcharge? Hard rule at 250 lb?
Guests should be comfortable hiking on varied, sometimes uneven terrain for 5.25 miles. Surfaces may be slippery and rugged. Please inform us of any mobility limitations.
Inputting improper weights can lead to cancellation without refund.
All guests must sign a liability waiver before departing.
